News January 2023– Mills CNC Training Academy

In January 2023 two members of staff travelled to Mill CNC’s premises in Leamington Spa to attend training courses at the Mill CNC Training Academy.

One member of staff completed a 4 day course for 4 axis turning. This course is for people with knowledge and experience of programming CNC lathes but need the additional skills to program our Doosan Puma 2100Y which has a Y axis.

Another member of staff wanted to improve his capability. He has completed a 3 day course for 3 axis milling. This course is aimed at people that wish to improve their CNC programming skills.

The courses are classroom-based using simulators. Both members of staff completed their courses successfully and we have received great feedback on the delivery of the course by Mills CNC Training Academy.

News May 2021– The Doosan Puma 2100Y

In May 2021 Telmar CNC invested in our first CNC lathe with a Y axis. The Doosan Puma 2100Y was the ideal addition to our workshop.

The Puma 2100Y offers increased accuracy and repeatability. The new lathe has an 8” chuck with 65mm dia bar capacity. The machine has a maximum turning dia of 406mm and max length of 520mm. It is ideally suited for our customers’ requirements.

Due to the machines milling capacity we can reduce the handling time on components therefore passing cost savings on to our customers. We can drill and tap holes and machine flats with ease in one operation.
